TAKING IT BACK MY ROOTS: ANKARA JUMPSUIT
It’s amazing to see how this African print gained esteem in the last few years within the global fashion scene. Celebrities such as: Beyonce, Gwen Stefani, Rihanna and not to mention First Lady Michelle Obama are rocking it.
When I wear this Ankara jumpsuit, it comes with great happiness and gratification. It reminds me of my family’s roots in Nigeria and how they would be all decked out in it.
Needless to say, when I found out Zuvva was doing a popup shop here in Dallas I had to check it out!
I just love all the different casual styles they had to offer: pants, skirts, blouses, etc. You can tell that there is careful attention to detail and making sure the tribal-like patterns and motifs are seamed perfectly.
This Bobby Schandra Honey and Gold Tote Bag was the perfect match for the jumpsuit. Typically, I find most tote bags to be too big or cumbersome, but I feel this size just works! I especially enjoy the alligator print and the color gradation from light and dark brown to gold.
Now that the temperatures are warming up, switch out the pumps for the current trend of platform espadrilles and it’s off to brunch with your favorite people.
