I met her nearly 5 years ago when my bestie, Elle, introduced us and told me they were dating. We hit it off instantly and shared many common interests, but our love for fashion is always a topic of discussion.
We decided to venture into Denton, Texas just to switch it up from our usual boutique visits in Dallas. After eating some bomb lunch at LSA Burgers Co., (by the way, best chicken sandwich ever!) we made a stop at The Palm Tree Boutique and found this denim dress. Dee wanted to go for a street look and I was up for the vision. What we both revered about it were the slits on the sides and how light it was considering it is denim. I’m down for anything that causes the least amount of body clinging especially how brutally hot it’s been in Texas lately. I also love how this dress can be worn as an outerwear such as rocking it with a sexy two-piece slim dress.
Buffalo Exchange was our next visit, as we were on a hunt to accessorize this look. Consignment stores like this are a chance to find all sorts of unique treasures. If you’ve been checking out my Instagram, I’ve got a serious fetish for chokers. I’d describe this one as my absolute fav since it really ups the ante with its multi-color beading, silver notes and the fun pom-pom details. Dee and I looked at it and with one huge smile, we knew it was the killer piece to tie this look together.
It was an absolute thrill collaborating with my dear friend, or as we call ourselves spiritual twins, for this look! We both took a chance at something we both enjoy. We live our lives with positivity, growth and learning. She decided this was the year to take things in her own hands, trust in faith and become a stylist. Check out more of her “swagged” out looks here! And for me, well, you’re reading it. : )
